How someone has overcome adversity can bring innate strengths and advantages to the corporate table.

If your experience is still in line with a position you’re applying for, but you aren’t toting the typical University degree, take on board the context of examples she is highlighting.  Emphasising core competencies through alternative experiences can be influential when deemed attractive and valued by the hiring company.
